Every child is different, and so is the support they need.
Here's what working with me might look like, from our first conversation through to assessment and therapy.
How I work
Start by completing the contact form and telling me a little about your child, what you've noticed and any questions you may have.
If you'd prefer to talk things through, you're welcome to get in touch by phone. We'll discuss your concerns and what might be helpful.
Getting to know your child is an important step. An assessment helps me understand their strengths, what they can already do and where they might benefit from support.
Depending on your child's age and needs, this may involve play-based activities, conversation or more structured assessment tasks.
We'll talk through the assessment findings together, including your child's strengths and any areas where they may need support.
You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, understand the recommendations and work with me to agree on meaningful goals for your child.
Therapy is tailored to your child's age, interests and individual goals.
For younger children, sessions may involve play and engaging activities. For school-aged children, therapy might include games, conversation and more structured tasks.
The aim is to make sessions enjoyable and purposeful, while developing communication skills your child can use in everyday life.
We'll regularly review progress and adjust the approach as your child's needs change.
Parents and family play an important role in supporting communication development.
I'll keep you informed about progress, share practical ideas you can use at home and discuss ways to support your child's goals.
Where appropriate, I can also work with your child's teacher or other professionals to support a consistent approach.
